Operating System: Windows 2000

The following steps are designed to help you assign a PC's IP address.

You should have an icon for Local Area Connection. Right mouse click on this icon. Scroll down to the section labeled Properties, and left mouse click on it. Select the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) section associated with the network component (or NIC card) you are trying to add the IP address to. Once you have selected the TCP/IP section, click the Properties button using the left mouse button.

Step 3:
You should have a dialog box named TCP/IP Properties pop up. Select Obtain an IP Address Automatically.

Next, select Use the following DNS server addresses. In the field labeled Preferred DNS server, enter (   .   .   .   ). In the field labeled Alternate DNS server, enter (   .   .   .   ).
